Né en 1974 à Genève, de parents franco-suisses, Sylvain Rivarolo est venu à la photographie vers la fin des années 90. D’abord pour les besoins de son travail puis très rapidement, par passion. Le besoin de voyager étant pour lui aussi vital que de ramener les images qui l’ont touché, il trouve sa voie dans la photographie de voyage en parallèle de son activité de photographe publicitaire et portraits en studio qu’il exerce en Suisse et internationalement. 

Il est à de nombreuses reprises finaliste de concours internationaux tels que le Smithsonian Annual Photo Contest, le National Wildlife Photography Competition ou encore le Photographer of the Year de Digital Camera. En 2006, il expose à Genève son travail nommé “A Taste of Panama”, une série de portrait en noir et blanc de populations natives du Panama.

Membre de l’association Photo Suisse, il crée en 2010 PHOTOGRAPHE-GENEVE, un collectif de photographes basés à Genève afin de proposer dans toute la Suisse des services plus étoffés tels que photobook pour modèles ou portraits institutionnels, événements, reportages, packshots, objets de luxe et autres.

Pour son travail photographique composé de portraits, de paysages mais aussi de détails de la vie courante, Sylvain Rivarolo à voyagé dans de nombreux pays tels que: Panama, Tanzanie, Grèce, Japon, USA, Laos, Egypte, Cambodge, Canada, Vietnam, Singapour, France, Thaïlande etc… Son inspiration va aux photographes du National Geographic qui ont bercés son enfance tels que Robert Caputo, Steve McCurry ou Bruce Dale.


Born in 1974 in Geneva, from French-Swiss parents, Sylvain Rivarolo started with photography in the late 90′s. First by his work demands and very quickly, by passion. The need to travel is also vital for him to bring back images that have touched him, he finds his way in the travel photography in parallel with its activity as advertising photographer and studio portraits that he manages in Switzerland and internationally.

He is many times finalist in international competitions such as the Smithsonian Annual Photo Contest, the National Wildlife Photography Competition or the Photographer of the Year Digital Camera. In 2006 he made an exhibition of his work in Geneva called “A Taste of Panama”, a series of black and white portrait of native populations of Panama.

Member of the Association Photo Suisse, he founded in 2010 PHOTOGRAPHE-GENEVE, a collective of photographers based in Geneva, to be able to offer a more diversify panel of photo shootings throughout Switzerland, such as portraits, events, reportage, pack shots, luxury objects, among others.

Because of his photographic work that consists of portraits, landscapes and also details of everyday life, Sylvain Rivarolo traveled to many countries such as Panama, Tanzania, Greece, Japan, USA, Laos, Egypt, Cambodia, Canada, Vietnam, Singapore, France, Thailand etc… His inspiration goes to National Geographic photographers who cradled his childhood such as Robert Caputo, Steve McCurry and Bruce Dale.
